Mezcal-Cocktail

Mezcal cocktails are finally gaining the mainstream appreciation they deserve.  Stumbling through various Mezcal cocktails with Gusano Salt in hand, this an ultra mega classic Mezcal masterpiece stood head and shoulders above the rest.  Of course this drink would not be possible without the brave sacrifice of a few little Gusanos to beautifully rim your glass with Gusano Salt.  If you’re excited to make your own fresh Gusano Salt, check out our recipe and place your Gusano order today, they’re in season and ready to ship!  The Mezcal Cocktail de Gusano subtle sweetness perfectly balances the smokiness of the Mezcal and spicy savory flavor of the Gusano Salt.

Instructions
  1. Combine Mezcal, Aperol, lime juice, and grapefruit juice. Shake with ice for about 1 min. If you dont have a drink mixer, any sealed container will work - but you won't look as cool holding an old spaghetti jar.
  2. Wet the rim of your serving glass in water, then dip it into a tray of Gusano salt.
  3. Add ice cubes to serving glass, pour shaken contents into glass over ice, then add a splash (about 1/4 cup) of club soda to finish your drink. Enjoy!
