Oh, yeah! I am really excited to demo novel edible insect foods on the BugWall. Thanks to the versatility of cricket flour, the product development sphere of the edible insect industry is in full swing. Just look at the full arsenal of edible insect foods I’ll bring on the BugWall. This trip I am fortunate enough to demo 3 brand new edible insect foods.
C-Fu Mealworm Tofu Dinners: straight form the C-Fu test labs, Lee and Eli crafted 3 different canned BugWall dinners using C-Fu. Excited by the idea of working with C-Fu? The chance to work with the creators of C-Fu to craft your very own C-Fu meal for two was graciously donated to our BugWall – Little Herds Indiegogo campaign. On the BugWall, I’ll bring:
- Chili made with Tomatoes, C-fu, onions, black beans, red kidney beans, green peppers, garlic, olive oil, seasoning (Fat: 13 g; Carbs: 17 g; Protein: 8.2 g; Calories: 202 kcal)
- Bolognese Sauce made with Tomatoes, C-fu, carrots, onions, celery, garlic, olive oil, salt, seasoning (Fat: 13 g; Carbs: 13 g; Protein: 6.2 g; Calories: 183 kcal)
- Chicken’ & Potato Soup made with Vegetarian chicken broth, Potatoes, C-fu, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, olive oil (Fat: 16 g; Carbs: 12 g; Protein: 6.3 g; Calories: 212 kcal)
Bugeater Foods Cricket Rice: If Bugeater sounds familiar, it’s because they also make Jump chocolate protein powder shakes made with cricket flour. Taking a different turn, the Bugeater has combined cricket flour with rice flour to create protein packing cricket rice. The wonderful thing about cricket rice is that I can pre-soak it with a little water before adding it right into one pot with C-Fu meals. This way I will have to bring less fuel and will only dirty one pot cooking.
Combining C-Fu meals with Bugeater cricket rice = Italian Saucy Rice with Parmesan and Chili-Rice burrito:
Cricket Flours Instant Oatmeal: Wall climbing trims away most of the comforting excesses in our lives, so the little pleasures that can be gained on a wall are invaluable. Cricket Flours cinnamon raspberry oatmeal with a hot cup of coffee on a cold BugWall morning will be a special treat. With 8g of protein per serving, this oatmeal will stick to your ribs and add a little hop to my top step.
